NOTE: Fire Meditations have been discontinued due to lack of interest.

The New Year Fire Meditation on Thursday 31 December 2009 was the last for now.  Let us know if you want the practice revived.

Fire Ceremony on 3 September 2006.

Since it was first discovered, our ancestors sat around fire.  The communal camp-fire was a meeting place, a place of healing and coming-together in all senses.  In our very genes we carry the love of fire, bred in over hundreds of generations.

In the modern world we seldom get the opportunity to sit by fire, to be still, to gaze deeply into the dancing flames, to meditate, and seek direction.  We seldom experience the sense of community and sharing that an open fire brings.

The fire ceremony, held approximately monthly near the full moon, is your opportunity to fill this gap.

We spend about three hours sitting around a traditional wood fire, with a break in the middle for a shared meal.  We breathe deeply, meditate, sometimes chant (see chants below), share, and cast our negativities into the flames.  It is a time to settle out of the hurly-burly, re-connect with our inner selves and with nature, and can be a spiritual experience much deeper than that offered by commercial religion.

On a metaphysical level, it said that fire purification cleans and heals our energy body (auric field), as well as our mind and physical body.  Many people find that it reduces negative emotions, especially depression, anger, resentment and the unconscious death urge.

All sincere seekers are invited.  Proceedings are non-denominational and do not follow –or threaten– any specific belief system or faith.  Both believers and sceptics can benefit from the fire.

Since only a limited number of people can be accommodated, advance booking is essential.

If there is rain, the event is postponed.
