Fully-furnished serviced rooms in a family home in Morningside Manor, Sandton, with all amenities.
Your hostess and host are a married couple, Judith Taylor and Rick Raubenheimer,
who live on the property at 126 Kelvin Drive (opposite Gary Avenue between Rivonia Road and Bowling Ave). We
are conveniently situated for students of the International Hotel
School, one block to the east at 140 Kelvin Drive, and
have easy access to Rivonia and central Sandton. To read more about the house, the property, and

All rooms share the use of the kitchen and
public areas with the owners and the other tenants. This includes shared use of a
refrigerator, freezer, griller, double oven, microwave oven, and gas and
electric hobs. The rooms are fully serviced,
including cleaning on weekdays, bed linen, duvet, towels, and twice-a-week laundry (washing and
ironing). Each tenant is to provide his/her own food, cutlery
and utensils except as arranged, and do his/her own cooking and
washing-up. For those who don't want to cook, we are in walking distance
from numerous restaurants, many of which deliver to the door, as does Mr
Delivery. There is outside parking for one car per tenant. We have obligatory House
Rules covering energy conservation, recycling, noise, security, etc.
No VAT is charged on rent. A deposit of two months' rent is required (it
may be paid –and returned– over two months).
Each
room has a telephone (no connection charge): Incoming calls are free, outgoing
calls are charged for at Telkom rates + 50%. Some meals and other facilities are available at an additional cost:
Dinner R50, Breakfast: English R35, Continental R25. Computer use 25c/min;
Internet access 50c/min; scanning, faxing, and printing: 50c/page. VAT is charged
on these services.
You will enjoy your stay more if you like dogs and cats, as we have several
of each. No pets of
your own are allowed except by prior arrangement, and no smoking indoors.

Bedroom (Room 3) in House
  Room 3 is a
small fully carpeted south-facing bedroom (size about 9 m2), for one person. The
bathroom (bath, shower, basin, toilet) next door is shared with another room,
visitors and office staff. Furniture includes a single bed, wall-mounted 54 cm flat-screen
TV, double built-in cupboard, curtains, chair, folding desk and lamp, and bedside table with
lamp and telephone. The room is fully serviced, including cleaning
on weekdays, bed linen, duvet, towels, and twice-a-week laundry (washing and ironing).
 Rent of R3 300 per month
on a 6-month lease includes TV with
M-Net, SuperSport, and 1 channel DStv, rates,
water, electricity, and shared use of kitchen, dining room, lounge, patio,
garden, lapa and swimming pool. No VAT is charged on rent.
Two months' rent is required as deposit (it may be paid –and returned– over two months).
The solar hot water system is shared with several other people, so
we prefer a tenant who showers rather than baths.
This is the most affordable of the rooms and ideal for a student on a more
limited budget. The desk provides reasonable study space and folds closed when not in use, concealing all those uncompleted assignments and messy
paperwork. The cat in the pictures can be provided at no extra charge.

Bedroom (Room 2) in House
 Room
2 is a North-facing fully carpeted medium-sized bedroom (12 m2
in size) with three-door
built-in cupboard; furnished with a double bed, chest of drawers, table,
dressing-table and stool, chair, mirror, telephone, lamp, and 54 cm
Samsung flat-screen
TV. The full bathroom (bath, shower, basin, toilet)
opposite is shared with another room, visitors and office staff.
Rent of R4 000 per month for
one person on a 6-month lease, or R6 000 for a couple, includes TV with M-Net,
SuperSport, and 1 channel DStv,
rates, water, electricity, and shared use of kitchen, dining room, lounge,
patio, garden, lapa and swimming pool. No VAT is charged
on rent. Deposit of 2 months'
rent is required: It may be paid (and returned) over 2 months.

we prefer a tenant who showers rather than baths.
With its full-height triple cupboard and
double bed (ideal for a couple, or the occasional intimate visitor), this is the most luxurious of the rooms. The north-facing
aspect means that it is warm even in winter. The large picture window
affords a view of the garden and lets in plenty of light. This room does not get the traffic noise that the south-facing rooms get.

Your window looks out onto a tropical garden complete with jungle cats sunning
themselves (they, at least, think they are tigers!).
This is the best room for a smoker, because you can smoke in
the bathroom courtyard, rather than having to go through the rest of the house
to get outside.
