Coachman's Crossing (or should that be "Coachperson's Crossing" to
be Politically Correct?) is a long-standing neighbourhood shopping
centre in Peter Place between William Nicol Drive and Main Road (where Sandton Clinic is). The centre has a mix of shops
including two supermarkets and a bottle store, and several restaurants.
The centre is named for, and clusters around, the famous
Coachman's Inn, a French Restaurant built in
the Tudor style and dating back to 1980. The "Inn", however,
has its own entrance and parking, not directly accessible
from the shopping centre, and may have closed.
The centre consists of a main block with
an upstairs floor possibly intended for medical suites (but mixed use now), and a
separate, smaller, block containing one restaurant at present: All
are listed below. See the top of the sidebar for links to these separate areas.
The centre underwent a lengthy revamp ending in March 2024. It now has
a clean whitewashed facade and new tiles. Woolworths Food moved in during
this change. There are no ATMs.
Parking is free and plentiful, in the open with some trees
for shade, and in the basement (accessible around the right of the main block). There is no access control, but there are "car guards".
Trading Hours: Monday-Friday 09:00-18:00, Saturday
09:00-15:00, Sunday & Pubic Holidays 09:00-13:00.
