The new Hobart Grove Centre which has been revamped, opened mid April 2011.
From May 2015 to June 2017 various changes took
place involving shops moving
from the Total Forecourt to other places in the centre, mostly the
right-hand part of Block D, under Fruits and Roots. A new
patio was constructed for Simply Asia Restaurant. The old
Medical block and Total Forecourt blocks were demolished and
replaced by a triple-storey building for Rockets restaurant and Lolitas. The old Medical block's tenants have largely moved to
a second storey on the extension to the main block. Forty
bays of overflow parking have been added in
front of Simply Asia. Spar has been extended, which required the
basement access ramp to be moved to in front of Simply Asia. As
of August 2017 all alterations are complete and the centre was fully
tenanted.
In September 2022, the restaurant block was being
rebuilt. Perron Mexican restaurant, Simply Asia, Barazza and
Wombles closed. Doppio Zero and Rockets remained open and
unaffected. By October 2023 the changes were complete. Perron
Mexican restaurant and Simply Asia restaurant have reopened.
Dis-Chem moved in above them, accessible via lift and escalator from
the ground.
